Kent County, on the Rural Eastern Shore of Maryland, Invites Hi-Tech and IT Businesses
In the Winter of 2016, the Kent County Commissioners entered into a public-private partnership with FTS Fiber for the construction of an 110-mile, county-wide, dark fiber infrastructure. This project was sought to provide a consolidated and reliable network for the county, but also to enable 3rd party ISP services by providing the middle-mile connectivity, making it more cost efficient for ISP services to provide connectivity to residents and businesses. FTS currently has contracts with ISP services, some of which are offering gigabit fiber connectivity to the premise.
